UNITS 7-10, MILTON PARK

Location: Units 7-10, Park Drive, Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxon OX14 4RR

Type of contract: JCT with CDP element

Overview:

The works in this project required Construction & Shopfitting Ltd to undertake a major scheme to stabilise and repair all four units because they were all suffering from subsidence, cracking, water ingress and masonry failure.

The internal refurbishment works were extensive and followed on from the major works package of this project which involved the complete underpinning of all four units. These underpinning works also involved the erection of a party wall between each unit. These works formed part of the CDP element.

Corrective works were also undertaken to the drainage system which had been installed by the original D&B contractor. This was also part of the CDP element.

As part of this upgrade, a new VRF system was introduced to all four units including the construction of a piled plant deck between the units with the remaining services being reinstated to the units as part of the CDP element.

Externally, the four units had their render removed in locations where the masonry had failed. This required us to crack stitch the flank walls at multiple locations along the facades. Following these procedures, the units were re rendered and decorated. These particular works also made up part of the CDP element.

This successful project has allowed the landlord to move tenants back in and market the remaining units.
